COME TAKE A PEEK AT CRABTREE CREEK

CRABTREE CREEK ART & FLORAL GALLERY is just a one hour drive from downtown Asheville and the trip will wind you through the beautiful countryside of Madison and Yancey counties. Nestled in the heart of the area that is home to the Penland School of Crafts, Crabtree Creek Art & Floral Gallery is delighted to represent and display the works of artisans and craftsmen from one of the most diverse and talent rich regions in our nation. Acrylic and oil paintings, sculpture, and stained glass are found at every turn, while whimsical collections of glass, pottery, textiles, and jewelry are displayed alongside native ivy, barn wood, and wormy chestnut furniture.

Crabtree Creek Art & Floral Gallery is owned and operated by resident floral designer Margaret Horne, whose floral creations are interspersed throughout the shop. Margaret and her husband Charles, made a fall trip to the area 12 years ago and their hearts have never left, building a vacation home in Presnell Hollow in 1995 and then becoming full time residents while building the gallery in the Spring of 2004. Margaret spent twenty five years in the floral industry as a nationally recognized designer/buyer, whose background includes the PBS television show, " The Flower Shop". The gallery has a complete line of silk flowers by the stem, baskets, containers, artificial trees, as well as completed seasonal arrangements. Margaret is readily available for custom design work, weddings, holiday decorating and on site consultation. A small garden center featuring blooming plants, garden art, bird baths, and fountains is tucked into the side yard that backs up to the stream.

Home decorating and interior design is now offered at Crabtree Creek through several ASID affiliates, and we have networked the design effort with many of the top area contractors and craftspeople, to be able to provide seamless one stop shopping, taking the customer from conceptual design to shop production and ending with final installation at site.

The gallery also offers fun-filled educational art & crafts classes for both the expert and novice. Whether you're improving your watercolor skills, learning to make goats milk soap, throwing clay on a wheel, or trying your hand at hat making -- You'll have a great time @ Crabtree Creek.
